Help Me Grow evaluation

we had our HMG eval. this morning. two (EI) early intervention specialists came to the house and did a full eval on kinsley. they also asked me a butt load of questions from pregnancy to present day.

the eval went very well and kinsley did great. they definitely saw the low strength and lack of development in the left hand and arm as well as the leg. they mentioned that she has low tone (lack of muscle strength) in her core and gave me some exercises to do with kinsley when we play. she is over compensating with her arms and legs for this low tone and so she sits up oddly and moves differently. she also locks her knees when standing rather then engaging her abs. that would be why her legs always seems so strong. they also saw how she crawls oddly and uses the right leg more then the left.

so basically they saw everything i was concerned about, and validated those concerns. they will do the write up in the office and score their eval and then i will get a call with the results. she has to score 1.5 deviations from the norm to qualify but they have already told me they will do a medical opinion if she doesn't score right because they feel she is in need of physical therapy.

so now we wait for the phone call and then probably end up on a waiting list! we will see.

overall i was very happy with the meeting and i am glad they noticed what i have been seeing. they did mention that it could complicate walking for her but i think she will adjust to her body and figure it out like she has with everything else so far. she may be awkward but she moves!!

TEETH!

we have two new teeth on the top and two more trying to break thru the gums! my my what a big week for miss kinsley!

SHE IS CRAWLING!!!!

at 10 months and 2 days old kinsley officially crawled!!!!!!!!!! now the chase is on!

10 months!!!!!

holy crap...kinsley is 10 months old!!! i can't even comprehend that! she is so amazing and starting to learn all sorts of things. it is so cool to watch her pick up new skills, its like one day she has no clue and the next day she can do it...crazy!!

so lets see...she is trying to pull up on anyone and everything. not crawling yet and that left leg is giving her troubles with all movement really. although she has no troubles getting around, sitting up from her belly, rolling, reaching for toys, and lately she has gotten up in her knees a few times. i will have to post that picture. i was amazed that her whole butt got off the ground!

she is eating like a champ, and still nursing of course. she loves her table food and will eat just about anything we give her at this point. she just figured out her sippy cup over the last few weeks, she can use one with a nipple and one with a straw so that is cool. i am glad too cause it is crazy hot this week and she can have water in the car now.

i do a very small amount of sign language with her, but she can ask for more now and at times i think she is trying to say the word more also. she knows the sign for milk too but prefers to scream!!! we are working on please and drink right now so we will see what she picks up. as for actual words she has said dada a few times but no mama :( she "talks" non stop but who knows what she is saying. she loves to tell a good story.

can't really think of anything else really. she is just the coolest baby ever though and so much fun. she loves peek a boo and laughs so hard i love it!!! although she laughs alot she has a very serious side also, she is part me and part daddy with her personality!

myrlte beach vacation!

we went to myrtle beach last week for kinsley's first big vacation!!! we had such a good time with brandon's parents, kelsey and adam. kinsley liked the beach for the most part and only ate a small amount of sand. i thought she would eat fist full but really only tried a small amount other then what was on her toys that got put in her mouth. she got knocked down by a few waves but didn't cry just spit out the water and kept on playing in the water. she was so cute!!!

we went to the aquarium. it was a really nice one too, she actually touched this horseshoe crab all by herself. it was pretty neat. after the first touch she didn't really want to touch it again but wanted to look at it and laugh!

it was a great vacation but i am glad to be home and back into a schedule!

ALSO....A BIG WELCOME TO BABY VAYDA MY FRIEND SHAWNA'S LITTLE GIRL WHO WAS BORN WHILE WE WERE AT THE BEACH. kinsley can't wait to go meet her new friend!

4th of July!

we went down town for red white and boom for kinsley's first 4th of july. we had a nice time and met up with the tonies there. the kids ate and played and then they all liked the fireworks. kinsley didn't cry, she wasn't to sure sometimes but she liked watching them.

of course she ate...she loves to eat all the time!!!

clapping and sitting up

about 2 weeks ago kinsley started clapping!! her left hand is still a fist but she is getting better at it. also she is know waving with her left hand with it open. she doesn't move her fingers it is more like a pageant queen wave...great!

also i found her in her crib the other morning like this!!!!

she also did it again today in the morning and again at nap, she will not show me how she does it during the day though.

kinsley's first mud hens game!

we went to kinsley's first mud hens game the other night with shawna and brent! we had such a good time and kinsley was a champ, it was a night game and she was in such a good mood the whole time. she stayed up till the last inning and then finally fell asleep! some people a few rows up stopped us after the game to tell us how cute she was and that they were watching her more then the game! i thought that was nice of them.

what a great night we all had together. we really miss going to see the mud hens, so it was nice to be able to catch a game with friends and to take kinsley along.

kinsley went home the other weekend to see gma and gpa. we had lots of fun and visited some friends too. of course i failed to get pics of the grandparents...duh!

kinsley still loves bath time. brandon does all the baths to save my back, it bums me out, i would love to play with her but then i can't move for days. when she gets older i should be able to do them.

Father's Day

it was brandon first father's day!!!! kinsley made him a card with her hand prints and she even signed her own name!!! so advanced! i got him a frozen concoction maker so he can make all the frozen drinks he likes...such as margaritas!!!
