climbing, milk

yep found her on the 5th stair the other day. i thought she couldn't get up them so i wasn't worried...well i was wrong!!!she went up like a pro...had to buy more gates!!!! she is amazing me lately how fast she is moving from one skill to the next, i swear everyday she does something new.

we also are officially done nursing and now on whole milk. she just weened herself and was done. i was done too tho!!! i hope next time to go longer and actually enjoy the experience more. no one i know had a baby that weened themselves like she did so it was crazy. i made sure to call the doc to be sure it was ok, they said a few weeks till she is 1 so it is fine. side note...a few weeks till she is 1!!! yikes! oh and she had no reaction to milk, she just drank it down like it was water!

nursing

well i think we are nearing the end of our nursing days. kinsley has pretty much weened herself and because the experience wasn't very pleasant i am totally cool with that. so even though she is just shy of 1 i think we will be done anyways. i don't plan on giving her milk till 1 unless the doctor says otherwise for some reason but i don't think he will. i just hope the experience gets better with the next baby!!!

funny story: so usually babies will associate their mothers with nursing but since we have had such difficulty kinsley actually only realizes it is time to eat when she sees the nipple shield!! love it. so i will have to throw those away...kinda of exciting to be done with that though!!!!

Fiesta!

we had our annual fiesta the other weekend. we had such a good time catching up with our friends. it is crazy how many little kids are running around now. i think everyone had a good time, unfortunately the weather did not cooperate so we had to basically stay inside. usually we all hang out outside. so it was a packed house but a good time. brandon got to use his frozen drink maker to make the margaritas!!! these days it is less of a drunk fest as it was in the past but people still enjoyed a drink or two!

ok well 11 months and 1 day she is pulling up. she did this all by herself on the couch this morning and then a few minutes later decided it was time to try to climb the stairs!! i guess another gate is in order. she is getting up on her legs and arms like a bear crawl alot too!!!

Almost one!

well kinsley is now 11 months old!!!! she is gaining so many skills it is crazy. she babbles all the time and tries to say a few words. she is crawling all over the place, loves to walk when holding someones fingers. she is so ticklish and has the best laugh ever. she has 7 teeth still only 3 on the bottom and 4 up top. and yes she still loves all food!!!!! i am anxious to see how big she will be at her one year appt.

mama

well finally kinsley is saying mama!!!! she has said it a few times now, still not to call me or anything but the sound is being made!!! she also says dada, up and hi...in baby of course. i don;t count anything yet as her first true word we will have to wait and see on that. she is also working on pulling herself up. she can get to standing when she is at the first steps..great place huh! but she can do it there so probably not too long till she figures it out other places. she of course does it strangely but that will be the story of her life!!!!!!!!

we had a great fiesta this year!! i will post some pictures soon!

big update from aug.

ok so here is a huge update from aug. we have our fiesta coming up so i wanted to get this posted before adding all those pics to the camera. they go late aug to early aug.

so here is daddy baby proofing!! it is official i have a gate in my house. just one so far at the top of the stairs, she has not yet figured out how to climb so for now we are good with just this one. more to come soon i am sure...fabulous!


just a cutie!! she is starting to really play and pick out preferred items. she loves to eat books and bring them to me to read. she is funny to watch play and pick out toys!

well we tried shoes...and they were off before we even got to where we were going! she is like her mommy and doesn't care for shoes too much.

we went to toledo for ggpa r's 80th b-day party. we got to see lots of family that we don't usually see so it was a very nice trip.

we FINALLY got to meet baby Vayda!!! my friend shawna had her little one while we were at the beach. we were so excited to get to meet her. she is adorable and such a good baby.

we also went to the zoo recently. kinsley can actually see the animals now and seems to enjoy it.

here she is with daddy watching the elephants. she watched them for along time. lucky for us the were very active when we were there.

she also liked watching the polar bears. these are the babies from the toledo zoo so it was pretty neat that they are now in columbus. it was feeding time so they were active too!! even jumping off the rock!

it was a super hot day!

fortunately for us we also got a date night in aug. brandon had gotten me tickets to see darius rucker for our anniversary. we had a great time at the concert. we have seen him play with hottie and the blowfish a few times too. he plays an amazing show.

well my parents had callie for 3 weeks while we went on vacation and unfortunately when we got her back she wanted nothing to do with kinsley and got nasty towards her. luckily she did not hurt her but if given the chance i think she would have. she growled and snapped and i decided that was close enough. i think she really enjoyed her time away from the baby and actually relaxed. lucky for my my parents said they would take her so we didn't have to give her away or take her to the pound. she loves it there and is nice and relaxed. we miss her like crazy but just couldn't take the chance.

HMG

we had another meeting with HMG today. They went over her eval. results and we wrote her IFSP (individual family service plan). it is like the IEP (individual education plan) that kids 3 and up have. anyways. she ended up qualifying in fine and gross motor so she will eventually see an occupational therapist (OT) and a physical therapist (PT). she did qualify with the medical opinion however her scores were still low in 4 areas, just not low enough. i am happy with the med opinion because right now she is catching up and seems ok to people that don't spend alot of time with her, but on an every day basis you can still see her delays. this way in case they get larger we will already have help in place, and hopefully can work on strength now and not have to worry much later.

her lowest score was in fine motor. her left hand still doesn't use a pincer grasp. so that is pretty far behind the norm.

so now of course we are on waiting lists!! first for the bridge program and then for in home care. the bridge program we would take her to for 1 hr every 2 months and they will work with her there and then give me things to do at home. that waiting list is 2 months. i am not sure how often the in care will be but that wait is 6 months right now. i am ok with the wait, i feel like 6 months will be very telling for kinsley. she will be gaining so many skills over that time that if the delays is going to get worse it could very possibly show up then.

so for now i will keep doing the few small things i know to do here and we will wait for a phone call!

biting ouch!

oh joy, kinsley is now biting all the time, anything and anyone she can get too. any ideas out there??? she is also grinding her teeth which to me is one of the worst sounds ever. it makes my teeth hurt!

update on teeth: four on top..and still just 3 on the bottom!

tomorrow i have my meeting with HMG. they are doing her IFSP, which is an IEP for children birth to three. this means she has qualified but i am not sure in what, i think i get that info tomorrow also.
